News from the Pipe Major
What a great Tartan weekend that was!
From the minute we stepped off with our entrance at the Pre-parade ceilidh on Friday,
to the final cut-off at Connolly’s after the parade on Saturday, it was a wonderful weekend.
We really did look sharp in our dress jacket uniform at the ceilidh,
and at the same time are still getting lots of compliments on the dark blue military
sweaters we wore in the parade.
The new Balmoral set has really taken hold and is fast becoming a band favorite,
especially with those wonderful seconds.
And for the first time in countless years, the weather cooperated and Avenue of the Americas
was awash in sunshine.
What a wonderful and receptive crowd lining the path.
All in all, a really solid weekend for the band that again helps as we attempt to solidify
our image among the local pipe band community.
Congrats to all the organizers of the Tartan week events - given the fun we had at this year’s parade,
we can’t wait until next year!
